My gradparent's owned Montague Funeral Home and my father and his siblings attended St Mary's from 1945-1952. Reaching out to see if anyone remembers the Montague's and share any memories you have.
Regards,
Colleen

Hi Colleen, I do remember Montague's. I graduated in June '55, and have recently been told we had a classmate, Janet Schierholz, who lived upstairs. Tried to find her for the June alumni weekend, but had no luck. I was suprised or maybe appalled on my recent visit to Woodside, when I saw a Korean Church instead of a funeral home, especially since Urban's is still on 69th Street. Matter of fact, my classmates had quite a discussion about changes. Mary

Wow, I don't know where to start about the Montagues. My parents, Irene and Joe Lonigan, were good friends with them. My almost cousin, Robby, bought the funeral home. My husband and I even stayed at the Montagues - they were on vacation - the weekend my sister got married (that was a story in itself).
Whose daughter are you? I am blank on their kids' names, but I believe there were two daughters and a son, right?
My name is Kathy Emond, nee Lonigan. I live in NH. My sister is Martha Jane Makse, and she lives in NJ.
Are you just looking for stories? I remember both as being one of the most respected families, Sabina was in Rosary Altar with my mother. I believe my mother followed her as President. Your grandfather was a really nice man, and I remember several Sunday dinners somewhere while we were visiting your aunt when she was still a nun. I MAY have some pictures, but it will take a while for me to find them. If you send me your address, I'll forward them.
I will also tell my sister to write some of her memories.
Tell me about your family. I'd love to hear about everyone, and where eveyone is.
BTW, were any of you at the St Mary's reunion last June?
